I emailed him and asked for a personal interview with him, and openly declared how outraged I am about being forced into something I don't want. I wonder if I'll even be able to get near his office, much less an interview! I'm probably stupid and naive politically to do declare how I feel, but this has my dander up. Why? Read on--

Because allegedly, those who refuse ( the flu shot) will be classified as felons at the State level, subject to immediate incarceration and quarantine of indefinite length in jails or other facilities reserved for such "vaccine refusers." Cute.

Those who doubt the effectiveness of unproven, uninsurable vaccines are being called "Vaccine Resisters" and being equated to a new form of "terrorism." How dare anyone call me a terrorist?!? Just because I don't want to have poison injeted into me? Do you have any idea what's IN that shot? THAT's what's terrifying!

Flood Abercrombie your calls and emails! This government mandate is unconstitutional, unAmerican and harmful. Act now!

Environmental Stupidity

This is a clip from Annie Leonard's blog at the Story of Stuff....

Annie Leonard starts out saying:

"Occasionally, I see some product that just freaks me out. That happened last week. I can’t stop thinking about this thing.

"It is a new men’s shave gel, which I read about in the New York Times (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/04/business/media/04adco.html). 

"The product is called NXT, which is pronounced “next” and is made by Clio Designs. The shower gel itself is comprised of clear gel balls in a plastic bottle. But the gel is irrelevant. The whole article was about the bottle. NXT is packaged in a triangular shaped bottle with a light blue hue. The thing that freaked me out about this is that every single bottle has an LED light and 2 to 3 triple AAA batteries in it.

BATTERIES IN THE PACKAGING?

"Two or three batteries in the PACKAGE, not even for the product ???? Batteries have such toxic components that many cities ban their disposal in the regular garbage and require them to be dropped at a household hazardous waste facility. We’re supposed to be designing toxics out of our production systems!

"The product designer’s idea is that the bottle will let off a light blue light which will draw us to the shelves to buy it. News articles about the bottles say they “will glow on the shelves, inviting customers to pick them up. Every 15 seconds, a light-emitting diode in the bottom of the container flares on, stays lighted for a few seconds, then fades out.” What are we, moths?

"I found pictures and more details on the product’s website, (whatsnxt.net) which explains that “…our products contain a mini-computer with LED lighting in the base. One bottle alone is cool but the whole line together is an experience.”

An experience?? No it’s not. It is a bunch of bottles, and stupidly designed ones at that."

Need I add anything else? What's so fascinating is the glib copy on the promo site where they cite the fact that (one of) the plastics they use is biodegradable, and part of the ingredients are 'natural'...huh?

Nourishing Traditions, by Sally Fallon

Did you know that:
* That you can make an immune-boosting drink from beets that has been consumed in Europe for thousands of years?

* That patients with severe burns are often force-fed huge quantities of eggs as a source of protein to rebuild loss of skin?

* That a study done with over 800,000 people by the American Cancer Society revealed that "non-egg users had a higher death rate from heart attacks and strokes than egg users"?

* The word 'marathon' actually means fennel?

And here's a good one: Patricia Hardman, PhD., who is the Director of Woodland Hall Academy, a school specifically for kids with hyperactivity and learning disabilities in Florida, says "We can change a child's behavior dramatically by lowering his or her intake of sugar."

She goes on to say that one child, who was tested 140 on his IQ test, was retested after a weekend stay with granny, who plied him with sweets. This time, he came in at 100. After 3 days he was tested agin and - you got it - back to 140.

Where am I getting all this good stuff? From an absolute must-read, must-keep book: Nourishing Traditions, by Sally Fallon.

I believe it will have more of an eventual impact than the ones Adele Davis wrote in the 60s that spurred such a health-food revolution.

Nourishing Traditions is not just full of plain old same-old, same-old recipes, it's recipes that are geared to help you be well, often derived from folk tradtion based on regional foods that were used for various health-giving properties.

She includes pages and pages of anecdotes, scientific research, stories and folk tradition passed along for centuries, all rolled up in the one 600+ page book.

I thought you'd love this book if you are fed up (LOL) with being fed hype, BS and lies by the big food processors. Wait til you read what she says about cream and butter (page 88)! And on page 130, one small sentence about using MSG *only once* gave me chills. And why raw honey helps you digest bread and other starchy foods (page 490)!

All kinds of great recipes that, in very simple and do-able form, allow you to build your immune system, add vitamins and enzymes, and create incredibly good-tasting foods. I've been experimenting with these for a couple of weeks and haven't found one I didn't like or enjoy. I especially love the lemon drink made with whey that tastes almost like beer, but is not fermented with alcohol!

This is a good resource: you do have to enter your name and email address to get to the site, but it looks like it's well worth it--he gives you way more than the usual community college night class courses about hwo to write kids' books.

CANCER IS...WHAT???
Have you heard of this? Here's a guy who says  cancer is a fungus, and easily and inexpensively treated! I doubted heavily, but after seeing him speak about it, seeing this video and checking out his book, now I don't. This is an awesome video. Click here: cancer-is-what

ONE OF MY BIGGEST PEEVES
I've been into researching and trying out alternative remedies and therapies for 45 years, and one of the things that ticks me off the most is how people who come up with cool things that work and don't cost a whole lot are demonized, persecuted and thrown into jail. A recent example of this is Doctor Hamer, from Germany.

He has a theory that cancer is caused by trauma-induced emotional knots in the system (sound familiar, EFTers?). He was thrown in jail in Europe for months and months, now is in Canada, I believe, seeking amnesty. Good luck, with the US next door!

But how can you argue with the thousands of success cases he's had? Makes me so mad to think of the help people could have that has been hidden and destroyed.
