Are You Going to Live YOUR Dream?

I have a friend who is devoted to helping children learn how to read.
I have another who is passionate about helping people with AIDS.
There's one in New Zealand who wants to go to Africa to help people set up a kind of nomadic medicine wagon.
And another who lives in New York who wants to help struggling artists.

Then there's a young woman I know who wants to do an exhibition of 35 paintings, but who hasn't been able to buy a single tube of paint yet.
And a man who loves to run avante-garde exhibitions here in Hawaii.
And a woman who does blood cell research, and another who does work with energy, sound and auras.

Have any of them signed up for the call this Wednesday which tells us how to go about applying for money from the very people who WANT to and CAN give it to us?

One.

I'm so surprised! WHY is that?

Well, I suppose it has to do with doubt.

Here are some thoughts I've had myself about writing grants:
I'll have to learn how - !groan! - another learning curve.
I don't have the time - I'm busy enough as it is.
I'm not good with numbers.
I don't think "that way," and it will be more difficult than living without my dream.
I'll get someone else to write a grant for me - one day.
Maybe no one would want to give me money for what I want to do.
I can't picture exactly what it is I want to do.
I don't know how much to ask for.

There are more, but you catch the drift.

I don't care what any of our doubts are - this is an important call, and an important series. And I want you to be on it. Even if you don't take advantage of the four-week course I have set up after the freebie.

Why do I want you on it? Because I know you'll be more inspired to either come back to or to continue walking upon that little, narrow, unique, singular road that is meant for you and only you - the one deep inside your heart - that assures that your life has meaning for you.

I believe we all have that Path within us. And because of painful incidents, unhappy situations, hurts, traumas and resulting numbnesses in our lives, we get thrown off it, and decide it's too dangerous, it hurts to much, what if I walk it and am disappointed....

Well, maybe you'll remember it and/or be reconnected to it and/or bolster your connection to it enough by taking hope from this one freebie class on the first three necessary elements of writing successful grants that you'll start dreaming again, start walking towards, continue clearing, or keep running down that path again.

We've all been told, one time or other, that you can't buy happiness. No, but having the money to create our dreams can sure help clear the way for us creating our own meaning, our own happiness!

How many times have I wished, in the past, to be able to help a friend in need - and couldn't? How many times have I wished I could give more - and couldn't? I believe we all want to be more generous, more creative, more fulfilled, more dynamic, more energetic. Wouldn't being able to lay our hands on a real source of financing for a favorite dream help us feel that way?

I want to take a year off and finish writing a string of books I've had planned, but am way too busy to even look at. I want to paint the batch of images that are crying to come out from the mid-burners of my brain. I want to travel to a few places I've never been, and meet the other sculptors there.

So I'm so delighted to be able to host this series of calls - because now I, too, have a priceless opportunity to learn the basics of what I need to do to get the money to do those things if I so choose.

It's about choice. I choose. So which gives you more choice - I haven't the money to do it? I don't want to sign up for that class? I'm too busy to take that class?

Or I'll take the class and stash the info for when I need it?

You choose. It IS your life.
