Last night, I read a little bit in a book that I got a few years ago. I keep it by my bed, and I refer to it so often that it's so dog-eared and worn out that I'm considering replacing it.
Yes, I teach people how to manifest, how to succeed, how to live their dreams. But that doesn't mean I don't lapse or fall off what I know, or that I don't need support like anyone else does. So this is The book I lean on when I fall off into my own personal pits.
You've heard the phrase many times, probably: Ask and It Is Given. That's also the name of the book: Ask and It Is Given, by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Esther is the one who channels the Abraham group.
It's so simple - ask and it is given.
"Right! Don't we wish it was so simple!," I hear you say.
Well, it really is. You've also heard, "What you think, you get," too, haven't you?
I said that to a client one day and she blew her top. She screamed at me, "That's not true! I'd have been re-molested again if it was! I think about what happened too much already!" Yet here she was, having a hard time in an intimate relationship and carried around a huge load of fear. Her old stories ruled her life.
What we don't understand is that we don't necessarily get the THING we're thinking/afraid of, but the ENERGETIC that is created by thinking about that thing: when we think of something we're afraid of, we end up shaking or sweating or agitated in some way - we have created the ENERGY of that thing within our sytems. Make sense?
For example, if I obsess on, "Oh I'm so broke! I can't pay my rent! What am I going to do?" I'm creating fear/broke energy in my system, and radiate that. And since the universe is so kind and wants us to have what we radiate, it brings me more of that. Fear and poverty.
But if I instead ask myself, "What is something I could do right now that would help me resolve this situation?," then I create the energy of hope, anticipation, and expectation that I will, indeed resolve it. And by focusing on that one thing, I remove my energy from the broke/fear energy and instead create the energy of the thing I'm thinking about - the resolution. Which then comes to me.
In "Ask and It Is Given", they say that if we think about something pleasent we will vibrate a happier frequency. But that it's not enough to just think about what is rosey and pleasent to us, they say.
There are three steps.
1. Ask
2. Answer
3. Receive.
1. They say that we ask all day every day in some form or other - watch how you think and what you say and you'll see they are right.
2. The next step we don't even have to think about: they say that what they call Source Energy fills this step.
3. But the third step is the tickler. Receiving. How many people do you know who can even receive a compliment, much less more money, a better house, a car, a raise, a trip to somewhere exotic, or even the Lottery?
We think - "Oh, yeah, I can receive! That's easy!"
Oh? Well, I wonder why is it that there are those are living on the street who have abundance flow all around them - and yet have only a broken down shopping cart full of dreary bags of rags, no health and pain and misery filling every part of their lives?
Why is it that someone can get halfway to his dream and stop and get stuck? Why is it someone else can ride the same road and go all the way?
Receiving is a state of mind. We have to build a MindSet for it, because we are so used to thinking in terms of lack: I don't have, I can't do, etc..
Getting into receiving mode is so simple and so easy, we forget how to do it. And we forget another essential component that makes the whole process incredible dynamic.
This Tuesday as part of the Peace and Power series, we will be going over the process of exactly how to remind ourselves to be able receive. And I'll remind you of that one component that makes the whole process even more dynamic, more energetic, more valuable.
This is the perfect time of year to be able to receive, wouldn't you say? And what an ability to take through the rest of the year, yes?
